T’ai chi has been of great benefit to me; I suffer from arthritis and therefore find exercise quite uncomfortable at times. I also get bored easily and don’t enjoy repetitive activity whilst watching other people who are better at it than I am!
I discovered T’ai chi and found that it is an opportunity to perform movements I can cope with. There is no jumping up and down; all activities can be performed at my pace and to my ability. There is also the added benefit of learning to control my breathing and becoming more aware of how I use my body’s energy. Personally, I enjoy the spiritual aspects of the activity and recognise the benefits of the relaxation after a particularly stressful day at work. Physically, my posture, mobility and general well being improve greatly when I do T’ai chi regularly.
I can recommend it to anyone of any age or ability to help fitness and general health; and I also must add that you meet great people at classes too!
