The number of teenage girls aged 16 and under being admitted to hospital with anorexia has increased by 80% in 10 years, according to the latest NHS figures.

The UK eating disorder charity ‘Beat’ said the increase may be due to girls not getting treatment or support early enough and waiting until they become seriously ill.

Teenage anorexia nervosa is a condition that affects many young individuals throughout the world. This is a serious condition that can result in several negative side effects and issues that parents will want to be fully aware of. This issue generally affects individuals when they are approximately 17 years old. However, this age is not set in stone. Therefore, parents will want to have a full understanding of the signs and symptoms related to anorexia so that he or she may be able to identify if their child is suffering from it.
